Sweet Moments

While having two kids 17 months apart can be a trial at times there are some things that make up for it. Like the fact that my kids are best friends. They have their moments like every brother and sister. Today while driving in the car, Daniel looked at Reagan and said "Reagan, I love you for ever and ever." Reagan replied "Ever and ever Daniel". Later while we were at a friend's house today Reagan had put on a Princess dress and came over to Daniel and took his hand and they started dancing together. So sweet and where was my camera!!!!
A couple of weeks ago while saying the prayer Daniel said, "Thank you for the yogurt that I got out of the fridge." He had gotten it out of the fridge without asking and since it was already open I decided to relent and let him have it. But I thought it a funny thing to say in the prayer.

Potter's Marsh

I have been bad about posting on here, it's not that we haven't been doing things it's just that we've been very busy and I usually forget the camera. After much prodding from my sister April I'm back with pictures.
Our adventures took us today to Potter's Marsh which is just south of Anchorage. We went with some friends and the kids had a great time. You have the ocean on one side of the road and the marsh on the other. The boardwalk was great for them to run on as it's all enclosed and they couldn't go anywhere. Except up and over which as you can see they did try. We didn't see a lot of wild life just some ducks; but they were different from any I had ever seen before. I also learned about Wood Frogs that turn their body fluids to sugar and they freeze during the winter in the snow and ice and for all essential purposes they die, but as soon as the snow melts it comes alive in within a couple hours hops away. I thought that that was really crazy.

Gardening with Kids

So no pictures of the garden at the moment, but gardening with a 2 and 3 year old has been interesting. We almost have everything in but let's just say the lettuce and carrots seeds... Well more of them ended up on my kids than actually in the garden.
Watering is a favorite past time, but that results in mud and as you can see there is hardly a clean spot on Daniel's pants. Our new routine is dress for early spring in the morning and go work in the garden or go to the park then come home for lunch and baths as they are frequently filthy, then we dress for summer in the afternoon. Some days we have to give them a bath at night as well if we have spent any time outside. In spite of driving me absolutely crazy as they get into other people's garden's, walk on our plants and etc. We are having fun. Today I picked our first strawberry and I did not share. :-) I'd forgotten how good homegrown strawberries are and how store bought ones are so tasteless by comparison.
